Barbara Allera spends 1 month in Arugam Bay CRC

Ms Barbara Allera, who has worked with CAP UK on various mentoring workshops in the past, visited the YPF resource centre in Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka to work with the children and the teachers to review and improve the curriculum. Barbara is passionate about spirituality, personal development and life coaching, in particular assisting the underprivileged. She is also a certified yoga teacher and Reiki master. Originally from Italy, Barbara is currently based in UK. She has travelled extensively and participated in many voluntary programmes to assist underprivileged people. For the past 2 years, she has been involved in various projects in Africa and Asia.

"I am an advocate for healthy living and to have a holistic approach to healing personal issues and traumas", Barbara said. "My deep desire is to serve and make a difference in bettering the lives of others."

The YPF was fortunate to have a dedicated person like Barbara visit our Arugam Bay CRC and offer us her time and expertise for just under 1 month. As with all YPF volunteers, the individuals paid all travel expenses and funds were not diverted from assisting the children.

This volunteer program was organised for us by CAP, Hong Kong, the main sponsors of the CRC Arugam Bay. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Leelasena and other members of CAP Hong Kong for their continued support.
